My name is Louise McCarthy and I am an Assistant Headteacher at Crownbridge School.

I am passionate about providing a culture that promotes belonging, community and a shared ethos, with learners firmly at the heart. My vision has always been to enable all pupils to have confidence and self-belief, which in turn, fosters motivation and the drive to succeed. I believe a school should nurture a love of learning through a pupil-centred teaching approach, which provides relevant, rich and engaging experiences, to ensure that every pupil is given the opportunity to reach their potential and beyond.

I have worked for over 20 years as a teacher and Assistant Headteacher, with responsibility for ALN, Health and Well-being, and Safeguarding. I love working with young people, care deeply about their wellbeing and I am passionate about giving all pupils the opportunity they need to become the best version of themselves.

I have a strong belief that an effective home-school partnership is a key factor in every child’s educational journey and their sense of well-being. With this in mind, I look forward to working with the whole school community, at Crownbridge School, to support and celebrate our pupils’ achievements.
